DELIVERY

DHL is the official courier service provider for the Wits Shop.

Delivery timescales

We aim to dispatch all orders within 5 working days.

The length of time an order takes to reach its intended destination will depend on the location.
SA inland orders will typically arrive within 5 – 7 days of dispatch.
Overseas deliveries will take 7 days to the destination country. Clearance from customs may influence the actual delivery date.

In addition, please be advised that we are unable to make any deliveries during weekends (any destination) or over public holidays (SA only).

Delivery destinations served

Orders can be delivered:

  • Throughout South Africa
  • Bordering African countries (Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe)
  • United Kingdom (excluding the Channel Islands)
  • United States
  • Canada
  • Australia

Please note: Courier, special and international delivery must be signed for at the delivery address and cannot be left with a neighbour. If you are unlikely to be home please choose a different delivery address.

Please note: Orders for delivery outside of South Africa may be subject to customs charges. 

Delivery charges

Carriage charges are based on:

  • Total order weight
  • Destination

Application of delivery charges in the basket

  • For unregistered customers, initially, your basket will be shown without delivery charges applied. However, during the checkout process you will be given the opportunity to specify your order’s delivery destination. This information will then allow us to calculate the appropriate delivery charge to apply to your order.
  • Registered customers with a single ‘fixed’ delivery address should see their charges calculated (and re-calculated as items are added / removed) from the outset.
  • Those registered customers without a single allowed delivery address will need to specify the destination of their order at the start of the checkout process in order to see their delivery charges applied in the basket.

N.B: Please note that where multiple delivery options exist for a destination, delivery charges may not in fact be calculated until the point of delivery method selection during the checkout process.

Specifying a different address for delivery

  • If you require the dispatch of your order to an address other than the billing / cardholder’s address, simply specify that your delivery address will be different from your billing address at the start of the checkout process and you will be offered the opportunity to enter / select the alternative details.

Customs For Non SA Deliveries

  • If your delivery address is outside of South Africa then any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and can’t predict what they may be.
  • Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact the local customs office for further information if you have concerns.
  • When ordering from The Wits Shop, you’re considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which the goods will be received.
  • Customs authorities require us to state the value of the items on the parcel; this also applies to packages labelled as ‘gift/s’.
  • Please note: Cross-border deliveries can be subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.

Order tracking

  • Online tracking details are supplied via email once the order has been dispatched.

What to do if your order fails to arrive

If your order fails to arrive please check the tracking information with the service provider to see if the goods are still in transit or that the package is not being held at your local post / sorting office.

If they are unable to locate or deliver the item please contact us with the shipping details we will be happy to assist in sending a replacement while our investigations into the whereabouts of your parcel continue.

Overseas packages: Please allow for up to 6 weeks from the date of dispatch for the package to arrive.

If this time elapses and the goods do not arrive, please contact your local post / sorting office to check that no goods are being held.
If they are unable to locate or deliver the item please contact us with the shipping details we will be happy to assist in sending a replacement while our investigations into the whereabouts of your parcel continue.

RETURNS

What if I need to return my order?

  • You may return items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.
    We will pay the return shipping cost if the return is a result of an error at our end, otherwise it is for your account.
  • We cannot accept returns of any item that is not in its original condition, has been damaged, or is missing parts.

How to return your order

You can pack and send your return to us in just a few simple steps:

First, get in contact with our team to alert us of the pending return.
This must be done by email.

  • Please include the following details:
  • Invoice number
  • Specify which item is to be returned/exchanged
  • Reason for return/exchange
  • Daytime contact number

Then, simply pack the item along with the reference number securely in its original packaging and send it to us at the following address:

I have received an incorrect item in my order

  • If you have received an incorrect item in your order, let us know straight away by contacting us and our helpful team will be able to assist. (Contact Us).
    We will arrange for the item to be collected and the correct item returned.

An item is missing from my order

  • Please check the delivery notes from each part of your order to make sure you are not missing anything.
  • If something is missing then please get in touch with our team here.
